Client is a technology giant and the worldwide leader in software, services and solutions. It relies on its partner organizations across globe to promote, expand and retains its business.
Client runs a skills Initiative program to promote the sales of their cloud-based products by providing training to customers across the globe through partners.
The client delivers training to its customers through diverse channels. Certain channels provide training at subsidized rate, some provides training for free, some are digital while some are classroom sessions.
Client required to perform a deep dive analysis on the global distribution of training through these diverse channels.
The key objective was to redesign the budgeting and allocation strategies across geos based on insights derived from the analysis.
TurnB Approach
Shortlisting training channels:
Identified multiple channels through which training takes place and shortlisted key ones required for analysis based on contribution and region level presence.
Data Collection:
Training details of various channels were procured from their respective cubes/data sources.
Delivery region/country level details were collected for all channels.
Visualization:
The client should get a holistic view of the contribution of multiple channels across multiple geos across the globe.
Prominent regions/countries should be visually highlighted.
Created a heat map view to better convey the insights; prominent regions were highlighted using box and whisker plot algorithm.
Automation:
Generation of WW heat map involved a lot of manual work, and it was difficult to scale the execution based on client requirements.
Created an automated algorithm using python to generate the heat map based on input training numbers.
Implications
Helped client in getting a holistic, easily consumable view on distribution of trainings through multiple channels across geos.
Enabled client to redesign their marketing, promotion and budgeting strategy tailor made to cater the specific demands of customers across the globe.
